At the NeuroLeadership Institute, we are deeply aware of how important psychological safety is to every organization, in every industry, around the world. Without a climate of psychological safety, things like collaboration, innovation, engagement, and virtually every other behavior affecting performance suffer. This connection to performance makes creating and sustaining a team climate of psychological safety front of mind for every performance professional. In this report, we define psychological safety, explore the impacts of its presence or absence, and provide tangible examples of what it looks like in the workplace.
